Annie Mae's is a woman-owned, family-run little wing joint in Warrior - the kind of place where the person taking your order has a stake in whether you come back. Reviewers talk about the women running it by name: friendly, all-business, quick to remember a face.
What started as a counter with a fryer has grown a deck out back for warm-weather eating. The menu runs wider than the name suggests - wings, yes, but also fried catfish and whiting, pork chops, sandwiches, and a banana pudding people mention in the same breath as the wings.
The wings are the reputation, though. Bigger, fresher, and better-sauced than the chains - that's not us saying it. That's the folks who drive across the county and say it for us, to the tune of 4.6 stars across roughly 150 Google reviews, with more than one calling them the best wings in Alabama and better than Buffalo Wild Wings.
